In preparation for their World War 2 topic next term, pupils from Robins class visited East Kirkby Aviation Heritage Centre on 20th March.
They had a great day exploring the museum and they particularly enjoyed sitting in the cockpit of a Canberra plane, experiencing a blackout and talking to museum staff about WW2 weapons and Army vehicles. We also saw the Just Jane Lancaster and many artefacts from Lancasters and other WW2 planes.
After enjoying a packed lunch, they spent time looking at World War 2 room sets, WW2 RAF uniforms and a mock up of an RAF billet hut. We also visited the Control Tower, which is supposedly haunted.
As there was so much to see and discover, we hope we can make a return visit in the future.
